This past week has been a whirlwind of activities, filled with exams, adventures, and new experiences. It all started with my first two exams here at Drexel: Introduction to Physiological Control Systems and Behavioral Neuroscience. Surprisingly, they both went really well, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. After a weekend that I spent studying a lot, it was time to take a break and explore a bit of Philly and Drexel.
I hit the gym with some friends from university, where we lifted weights and played basketball with some locals. I must admit, I enjoyed not only the physical activity but also the lively atmosphere and the vibes on the court.

One thing I was determined to do since I arrived to Philadelphia was to try the famous Cheesesteak. So, one evening, my friends and I set out for Angelo’s, known for having the best Cheesesteak in town. Unfortunately, it was closed that day (lucky me), so we ended up at Geno’s, another famous spot, where I finally got to taste this iconic dish. I have to say, it was even better than I expected!

The next day, I met up with a friend for a Mexican lunch, full of tacos, burritos, and churros. As we enjoyed our meal, we talked about my experiences in the USA and his adventures in Italy and Spain. It was really interesting.
Later that evening, I caught up with some friends from Brazil who were visiting. We talked in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, soaking in the diverse cultural exchange. Eventually, we joined other exchange students for a fantastic sushi dinner at Tomo Sushi, a local favorite recommended by sushi lovers. It was so good, I definitely needed some sushi 🙂
To end the week, my roommates and I headed to watch a Philadelphia 76ers game. We watched the Atlanta Hawks vs the Philadelphia 76ers in what turned out to be an unforgettable experience. Even though we lost, I will never forget my first NBA game. From the excitement of the crowd to witnessing the NBA stars in action, every moment was filled with pure energy. I cannot even begin to describe how much I enjoyed it, and I am already looking forward to attending another game soon.

I love being here, I find myself grateful for the wonderful experiences and connections that I have made. Each day has brought something new and exciting, and I feel fortunate to be experiencing it all here at Drexel. Until next time!
