Greetings once again, esteemed Drexel family! As I navigate through my second week in the heart of Philadelphia, USA, I am thrilled to share that the city has transformed into my snowy playground. Today’s adventure takes us to Center City.

Our journey begins at the beautiful City Hall, an architectural marvel that words struggle to capture. Strolling through the city’s streets with my friends, we made our way to the Reading Terminal Market, a culinary haven that sparked my friends’ enthusiasm for the famous Cheesesteak. To be honest, I was not that hungry, so I decided to wait and go another day to the recommended Angelo’s, in South Philly, a place where locals told me I would find the best Philly Cheesesteak. I promise to share the experience soon!

After that gastronomic expedition, I made my way back home through the enchanting streets of Philadelphia, traversing through its charming parks. Then, when I was getting a little bit hungry, I saw a Turkish food truck with delicious food waiting for me. I decided then to give it a whirl, and let me tell you, it was a flavor explosion. I went for the lamb special, which was tender and juicy, paired with fried rice and a refreshing salad. The spicy seasoning added that perfect kick. Nestled in a nearby park, I enjoyed my meal, sharing the space with tree-climbing squirrels and locals getting their groove on. Despite the chilly weather, the combo of good food and park vibes made it an unexpectedly awesome picnic.
Moreover, this week has brought an unexpected turn in the weather. Imagine my surprise as I awoke to a city adorned in snow. Now, for local citizens, this may be a common occurrence, but for someone like me, it’s a novelty. My previous experiences with snow were limited to the slopes of Andorra during a holiday skiing trip. Yet, Philadelphia transformed into a winter wonderland, with icy sidewalks, soft snowflakes, and a breathtaking view of the city completely covered in white.

Certainly, navigating the sidewalks without a slip has become a bit of a challenge, but the thrill of my first snowy city experience makes it all worth it.
Stay tuned for more escapades, cheesy discoveries, and more adventures that the city of Philadelphia will bring me in the future. Until then, stay warm and keep dreaming of Cheesesteaks! Winter is here, and I’m ready for the ride.
